The determination of routine ship maintenance and upkeep schedules should be guided by the principles and philosophy of CWBT, drawing on and incorporating the four categories and eight levels of the CWBT maintenance system, along with its corresponding maintenance cycle concepts. Daily and monthly maintenance shall continue to employ the A‑, B‑, and C‑level maintenance scheduling format used in CWBT management, while docking‑for‑overhaul maintenance plans shall be developed based on the vessel’s technical condition and tailored primarily to the requirements of D‑, E‑, and F‑level maintenance.
Daily maintenance is performed every day; monthly maintenance is carried out once a month, lasting one day each time; semi‑annual overhauls are conducted after the main unit has operated for 500–600 hours or at six‑month intervals, with each overhaul lasting 3–5 days; and annual overhauls are performed after the main unit has operated for 1,000–1,500 hours or once a year, with each overhaul lasting 3–7 days.
